A wonderful day cycling in the #newforest #hampshire where there are several thousand semi-wild #newforestponies along with cattle, donkeys, sheep and (in autumn) pigs. These are owned by the commoners who pay an annual grazing fee known as the ‘marking fee’. Monitored + tail marked by 5 New Forest agisters who organise regular ‘pony drifts’, in which the commoners get together to gather in their ponies for an annual welfare check. #cyclethenewforest
Always a great walk, winter, spring, summer or autumn, yesterday the mist did not clear in the #surreyhills but it added to the atmosphere. Join lovely @ramblersgb group @sabrewalkers for regular social walks in Surrey And Beyond! There is always a great pub or coffee shop to enjoy #ramblerswalks #surreywalks #winterwalks #Surrey #greensandridge
